| The National Academy Foundation School in Baltimore is part of a larger organization also known as the National Academy Foundation based in New York City. Themission of the National Academy Foundation (NAF), which was founded by Sanford I. Weill former chairperson of Citigroup, is to sustain a national network of career academies to support the development of America's youth toward personal and professional success in high school, in higher education, and throughout their careers. NAF Academies represent business/school partnerships that prepare young people for future careers through a combination of school-based curricula and work-based experiences. NAF bridges the worlds of business and academia, providing learning opportunities for teachers in theworkplace and for business people in the classroom, while forging a national network of supportive peers. Today, NAF is the largest and oldest career academy support network, serving communities of 50,000 students in 627 Academies nationwide. |
