Success requires not only academic preparation, but development of the self as well. Personal Development Seminars focus on the development of grooming, deportment, human relation skills, study skills, job preparation, and career awareness. In addition, students in the Pre-Academy Program will be exposed to content areas in their chosen career path. Seminar topics might include: assertiveness training, goal setting, values clarification, time management, business etiquette, public speaking and more. NAF strongly believes that the classroom curriculum is best complemented by the expertise of persons working in the respective industries of the school. Thus, NAF has an open-door policy wherein board members readily visit the school’s classrooms to share advice, industry updates, job readiness skills and other vital information with students. Past topics of our guest presentations have included: Dressing For Success, College Readiness, Positive First Impressions and Business Etiquette. Guest presentations are sometimes as informal as conversation between the guest and students or as formal as a power point presentation requiring students to take notes and respond through activities. Guest presentations can last anywhere from 30 – 90 minutes since our classes are on 90 minute block schedules.
