The Shadowing Program introduces 10th and 11th grade students to the world of work. From this experience students begin to feel comfortable in the workplace, build self-esteem and start to think of themselves as professionals. The Program prepares students for their internships by: showing them how professionals behave in the workplace; exposing them to various positions in financial service, information technology or hospitality and tourism; allowing them to explore the types of internships they would be most interested in completing. The Paid Internship Program requires a minimum of eight consecutive weeks during the summer. This highly attractive program has strict eligibility requirements including excellent attendance and punctuality, passing grades in all junior year courses, timely submission of an acceptable resume and satisfactory performance on preliminary interviews. Past students have enjoyed internships at area hotels and attractions from the Marriott to the Hyatt Hotels, the Aquarium and the B&O Railroad Museum, as well as major Baltimore businesses like Citifinancial, Harbor Bank, Johns Hopkins, and Provident Bank. |
