Partnership Criteria | Directors | Advisory Board
The National Academy Foundation School has a two-tiered partnership – an Executive Board and the Business Partnership Council, each made-up of representatives of the three NAF academies, post-secondary education or the community-at-large.The Executive Committee is composed of four standing members from each of the three academies, one parent and the chairpersons of the eight (8) standing committees – Board Development, Student Enrichment, Facilities, Development/Fundraising, Marketing/Communications, Finance, Program/Curriculum and Baltimore City Public School System Advisory Committee. In general, the Executive Board has decision-making authority, takes responsibility for planning and implementing special events, leads strategic planning initiatives, and sets the agenda for regularly scheduled meetings. This board meets once per month, usually the 2nd Friday. The remaining board members form the Business Partnership Council. These board members commit to support the school by providing financial support, job shadowing and/or internship positions, teacher externships, serving as guest speakers, participating in academy activities or other acts of support. These members meet two times per year, September and May, and also attend any general/open board meetings. While partnerships play a vital role in sustaining the school’s academic programs, NAF Baltimore also relies heavily on financial support from foundations. In 2005 as we make a major transition to our permanent school site, we are particularly grateful for the support of: American Express Foundation Middendorf Foundation, Inc.
